Flutster — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Flutster is a free, open-source music-timeline party-game companion. It scans a card's QR code and plays the matching song on your own Spotify account. This policy explains what data the app touches and what it does not.

The short version: Flutster has no servers and no accounts of its own. It collects no personal data, shows no ads, and contains no analytics or tracking. Everything it stores stays on your device.

Who runs Flutster

Flutster is an independent, non-commercial project by an individual developer. Contact: nic.silver@hotmail.dk. Source code: github.com/Nicsilver/flutster (AGPL-3.0 licensed).

Data Flutster does not collect

Flutster does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no Flutster account, no Flutster server, no advertising, and no analytics or crash reporting. We never see your identity, your listening history, or your device data.

What is stored on your device

Your own Spotify account (bring-your-own credentials)

Flutster plays music through Spotify using credentials you provide: you create your own free Spotify developer application and enter its Client ID into the app. Flutster then talks to Spotify directly from your device to control playback on your account. Your Spotify login and playback are handled by Spotify's own app and services — not by Flutster. Your use of Spotify is governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy. Flutster requests only the permissions needed to control playback and (optionally, at your request) to save a song to a private playlist in your account.

Deck sources you add

Flutster can load card-to-song mappings from URLs that you add in Settings. When you do, the app fetches that file directly from the URL you entered. Flutster does not host, supply, or track any deck data.

Children

Flutster is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone. Spotify requires its own users to meet its minimum age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date above.
